About Jess Tran

Jess Tran (b. 1993) is a first-generation Vietnamese-Australian photographer born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Self taught after being given her grandfather's Minolta x-7000 at 14 years old, her work is focused on using documentary photography to capture communities and cultures in transition. Her work is interested in exploring the liminal spaces created by immigration, permutations of home, and the transformation of cultural identity through memory.

She was selected as the Artist-in-Residence for the 2024 Program of LESArtist in Lesa, Italy, and exhibited her work at Lesa's town hall. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
