I was born in Tehran, Iran in 1982. I got my Master of Arts in English Literature from Azad University of Tehran. I am a member of National Iranian Photographers' Society.
I was born in the early years after the Islamic Revolution of Iran when my country was in war with Iraq. 8 years of my childhood wasted tracking Iraqi missiles rather than playing and running. The missile alert sound is still in my ear.
War passed but the effect was there. I grow up in an intense society which I can say is one of the most political societies in the world. Politics is our daily life. In Iran, you always feel that you are living under the surveillance of an omniscient powerful force which is exactly the dominant discourse, the political power. It is every where, it is in the air.
Having studied literature and critical theory and lived in an intense political society and in huge polluted megacity, I had a deep critical approach toward my society, my culture, my city and my country. Then, I found photography the best media for presenting my critical view.
I started to take photography as something serious in my life. Soon, I won some local awards and I had my first solo exhibition in Tehran.
Just recently, I moved to Vancouver, Canada for a brighter future.
