About Anna Tihanyi

Anna Tihanyi (Hungarian, b. 1979) is an award winning fine art photographer staging cinematic scenes to tell compelling visual narratives. She is interested exploring the female self and identity through processing memories. Her portfolio was selected for the Lucie Award Scholarship by the American Photographic Artists and the Lucie Foundation (2014) receiving a great recognition at the gala awards ceremony at the Carnegie Hall, NYC. She has been recently accepted to Columbia University's MFA Visual Arts Program.

Anna’s work is among the permanent installation for the Youth Olympic Village in Innsbruck, Austria and Aesthetica Magazine recently mentioned her as one of the very influential female photographers. She has received several prestigious photography awards internationally including Julia Margaret Cameron Award [2015], Critical Mass Top 50 [2016], LensCulture [2016], Fine Art Photography Award [2017] and been featured in numerous solo and group exhibition nationally and internationally. This year she has been shortlisted for the BMW Art Makers Prize. She has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibition nationally and internationally.

Currently working on her next projects that relates family heritage, memory processing and female identity in Budapest as a member of the Budapest Art Factory non-profit art organization and artistic collective.
