About Jan Banning

Jan Banning is a Netherlands-based autonomous artist/photographer whose work almost always has a social focus. This landscape photo is an exception.
His series such as Bureaucratics, Down and Out in the South, Comfort Women, Law&Order and Red Utopia have been exhibited and placed in the collections of museums around the globe, including the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. In the Atlanta area, his work has also been displayed at the Hagedorn Gallery, Atlanta Celebrates Photography and Georgia State University’s Digital Arts Entertainment Lab.
It has been covered by international media including CNN, The New York Times, Time, The Guardian, National Public Radio, National Geographic and many others.
