About Jamie Fyson Howard

Jamie Fyson Howard is a British photographer who has resided amongst various Slavic tribes since 1994, picking up their languages, customs and quirks—sometimes willingly. From forest initiation rites of lard and vodka to navigating the labyrinthine intricacies of a language family where time and logic cease to exist, he hopes this benign influence is to some degree reflected in his work.

Over more than a decade, he has earned international acclaim in street photography. Highlights include 1st place in National Geographic Poland’s 2024 “People” category, Eyeshot Open Call finalist (2025), and Moment Street Photo Awards finalist (2024, 2019). He has exhibited at major festivals in Brussels, London, San Francisco, Miami and Poland, and in the Leica Street Photo and International Fine Art Photography Awards, taking 1st place in the ISPA Street Photo of the Year, Tanzania (2014); Urban Photography Awards, Trieste (2012); and Luminance Photo Festival, New York (2012).
