In photography, I am interested in a relationship between an image and reality; the tension between documentary nature of an image and the fiction of the story it tells. The real thing is always a starting point for me to consider a particular issue. I am keen to examine something that really exists and the way it does. The power of "truth" of a photographic image, the firm belief that a picture is identical with reality has always surprised and inspired me.
