Matthew Wylie

Matthew Wylie is an artist currently based in Toronto. His work has been showcased by National Geographic, various international magazines and collective fine arts books, as well as exhibited in London, Paris, Berlin, Los Angeles, and New York.

With a background in academics and writing, Matthew often attempts to explore the various relationships that exist among words, images, and the gaze, both collective and personal, conscious and subconscious. Rather than merely document reality, Matthew seeks to harness abstraction and beauty from it – to use his imagery, in short, “as an exercise in seeing, or an antidote to blindness.”
