About CY Frankel

C.Y. Frankel lives and works in London and Jerusalem, and in 2015 graduated from Middlesex University, London, with an MA (Dist.) in Photography.

He is fascinated by the role of photographer as author, interpreter, and storyteller. He likes to think about the paradoxes that this role throws up—in particular how photographs can be used both as documentations of reality and also as a means of self-expression.

His current work uses unposed documentary photographs to try and describe the intangible—themes that concern themselves with emotion, consciousness, and human hopes and fears.
