Synchronicities
When a friend saw the draft of this ongoing series, he laughed and said, “Ikaw na ikaw!” (“This is so you!”) People close to me say I’m a funny guy - and I’m starting to think it’s showing in my photography. Over the past couple of years, I’ve become more aware of the weight of responsibilities. I’ve been trying to slow down - and that shift naturally made its way into how I shoot. Slow. Unhurried. And in that process, I found myself drawn to images that feel surreal - and sometimes, even funny. “Synchronicities,” a personal project, is what came out of that slowing down. Along with more chances to notice. To imagine. To appreciate. To enjoy.
Many of the images in this series came from curiosity and a lot of waiting. Some were just pure happenstance - spontaneous ideas captured in the moment. Someone once described the photos as “happy accidents,” and honestly, I couldn’t have said it better.
