Plima
“Plima” dives into the world of my father’s war veteran community and points out some of the underlying effects the war continues to have on their lives. While the physical destruction of war can be seen immediately, its psychological aftermath often remains hidden. Consequences of military trauma have left many veterans marginalized due to their inability of social reintegration. Despite the sacrifices they made during the conflict, they receive hardly any support and are left to their fate. The project illuminates the often-overlooked social dynamics that emerge in war-torn communities, revealing the complex interplay between trauma, resilience, and community bonds. The series embodies my emotional connection to the past, reflecting on how the conflict shaped my childhood and the environment I grew up in.
