The first publication that deals not only with the photographs of the world-famous author, winner of four World Press Photo awards, but also with what he experienced when his most famous photos were taken. Kratochvíl‘s fascinating stories are captured by journalist and photographer Lenka Klicperová, who worked with Kratochvíl on the project for over three years. The book contains Kratochvíl's best photos depicting conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, the genocide in Rwanda, and poverty in India and Africa. But it also covers meetings with world celebrities, the debauched world of Moscow nightclubs and the irreversible destruction of nature. Kratochvíl also looks back on his own life full of unbelievable twists, including his emigration from Czechoslovakia, his life in refugee camps and his engagement in the French Foreign Legion.
